I have no plans to mod anything, she runs and pulls good stock.

I pull a 33 foot 10k fiver 4-6 times a year.

I just don't know if I need a boost gauge, or it would just be a nice toy.

Thanks

The boost gauge is a nice tool for watching for early signs of issues and to use for learning fuel economy driving techniques .

Cool. I have had the FP for a while, just got the EGT put in last weekend. (had that a while too :)

Just had a hole left in the triple pillar, and had an eye on dakota digital's tire pressure and temp monitor. don't have the cash now, but it looks like a sweet gauge. So if boost is not necessary for safe operation I think I will go that route.

Thanks!

It is just like any other gauge your monitoring another piece of equipment, no boost or low boost no power. It doesnt have to be just towing either but its nice to know whats going on when things do go to the crapper! The more info you have sometimes the easier to find the problem IMO... Ken

Thanx for the replies, so if I get the jist, the boost is helpful, but not like the egt or fp, where damage can be easily prevented.

I think I will go the tire monitor route then, as blowing a tire on a 10k fiver

scares me more than a loss of power.

I love this site, great value for the money. :D

Personally, I think you should get boost. I was climbing a pass back home and lost power with a bang, no buildable boost and high egts. I blew an intercooler boot. As soon as I looked at my gages I had a good idea that I had done so. Slowed down and exited the interstate minimizing my damage.

The fact that you tow, perhaps at altitude?, I would think it would be a great addition. For the price of the gage, why wouldn't you get it??

On another note, what is this "I have no plans to mod anything" business about...

Just kidding!
