I installed a boost gauge the other day, and it never reads zero, even with the truck shut off. It always reads at least 2. 5 lbs of boost. As boost climbs it reads fine, just never goes to zero. I'm thinking that the hose could be kinked somewhere, but before I waste time checking it out I know someone on here will have the answer. I tried searching old posts, because that usually gives me an answer to every question, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, has anyone had this problem before? Could the gauge be bad? I don't remember if it zero'd before installation. I would probably go check it out right now, but it is raining.

Unless you're running an electronic gauge if it doesn't go to zero with the engine off the only thing it could be is a bad gauge

My Isspro gauge started doing just what yours does. It would not rest on the peg and it measured about 4 psi higher than it should. I ordered another since it is still under warrantee (2 years) and was putting the new gauge in when the first gauge instantly went down to zero when I started working on it.

After some timkering, I found that the light bulb inside was hitting the boden tube (or whatever is in them) and was throwing the reading off. With a little manipulation of the wires, I was able to get the bulb to not interfere with the gauge and it works fine now.

Now I have a brand new gauge on the shelf.
