Boost Gauge Question - 35 or 60psi?

Hey fellers,



I'm ordering my gauges today, I have finally decided on the Di-Pricols. Reason being is that they are the only ones that offer a 0-30psi fuel pressure gauge (that I like anyway). I had thought I would order the 0-35psi boost gauge, but now am wondering if I shouldn't change that to the 0-60 gauge.



My question is driven by this: What mod (if any) would throw my little turbo over 35psi? DDI's, or mabye one of the new generation boxes?

I am completely stock, and am hitting a peak of 26 with steady at 24-25 readings. I was told by my dealer to go with the 30psi if I was going to keep it at stock. If bombing any, fueling box or other mods, go with the 60psi model. He said with the Edge EZ on his 03, he was hitting 35 or a little more. One of the guys I run with has the Bully dog box, 4in. exhaust and BHAF, plus DD3 injectors and he has hit a peak of 56psi. That should give you some point of reference for what you want to do with the truck.

Thanks for the reply JEngle. That's a good lookin' truck brother. I like your prodigy mount. I'd like to try that, and try my hand a fiberglassing a replacement cover for the ashtray.



My only mod to date is the AFE intake. After the new year, I'd like to add a new exhaust. That'll prob be it till 100k miles. Then hopefully a box and some DDI's. We'll see how it goes.

I have the Di-Pricol 35# and it is more than enough. The most boost I have seen is around 23#. Nice gauges, I really like 'em.

The last report I heard on the new TST box is that it pulls 35-40 psi.

0-50 is the best range, but not many folks make that one.

It's always better to have a little too much than not enough. You may only need the 35 psi gauge now, but you may need more than that someday. If you already have the 60 psi in there, you won't have to swap. That was my logic in the decision to purchase a 60 psi instead of the 35 like I did in my last truck. Pegged it all the time.

i'd like a 3 bar boost gauge [45psi] just to be different, and it would read enough for me i think [after some mild bombing]

I've got the 35PSI autometer phantom gauge, and don't go over that with the EZ.

Thanks, Andy. It's a work in progress. I spent the afternoon on my back, installing the Buckstop rear bumper. Got that on, now I need a couple of foglights for the rear lighting. This week, I hope to be able to work around Christmas and get the front one on, as well. Then, I'll take some more pics and post them to my gallery.



Fiberglassing, huh? Tried that a while back, another project. I was thinking more along the lines of a few minutes with a dremel tool on that door and put it back on. I don't smoke, so I'll never miss the ashtray. I just liked the way it was out of the way of the shifter and yet easy to hand, if I need to help it out. That way, it's also mounted pretty close to level, which the directions say, makes the inertial sensor more accurate. Have fun, stock is never enough. I am thinking I might go with the new TST box, if it works well for the guys that have it on order already.

Go BIG or go home. If you buy the 35's and need bigger after the bug has bitten you just wasted your money.

Yeppers, I pretty much got what I figured I'd get: A 50/50 split between BOMBers and Stockers. But hey, that's what I asked for! I did get some good info, and I am better prepared to make an informed decision (when I make it, I'll let you know. lol!)(I'll give you a hint... I ordered the 35, but am prob gonna send it back and get the 60!). As always, thanks for the help, you guys are the greatest!
