Well guys it looks like i'm getting gauges & I was wondering what boost gauge to get? Should I go with the 30psi or 60psi. . It will be a little before I can do any upgrades to the transmission or by a box to add power... And one second question is how much boost is safe for a stock engine?

Well, I have a 60 PSI and wish I'd gotten a 30. Max boost I ever see is about 15, which is about right for my stock '95 according to Dodge. With a 30 PSI gauge, a 15 PSI reading would be mid-gauge and thus pretty accurate... with a 60, its way down on the low end of the gauge and thus of dubious accuracy.

Well, I'm going to vote for the 60 psi gauge. You should hit about 18 psi now give or take. If you are going to get a box or even thinking about it, go with the 60 psi gauge. With just stage II injectors and a boost fooler I'm hitting 30 now.

Just my $. 02

Boost gauge question

Go with the 60psi Gauge. I have 35psi max and hit that no problem if I am getting on it hard. Wish I would have went 60psi route. This is just my opinion.

Get the 60 if you are going to mod it at all. My 97 will break 30 with the stock plate forward. your 2000 will do the same if you bomb it.

Go with the 60 as it doesn't take much to exceed a 30# gauge. An HX-35 usually makes max HP in the 30-32# range so this would allow you to adjust it for this area. Besides having a 60# gauge allows for an upgraded turbo in the future without changing the gauge.

I have the Isspro EV pyro and 40# boost gauge that is available. More readings than I will ever need without all the 'extra" clutter on a 60# gauge.
