I was at the Farm Progress Show the other day and I looked in a new Ford and I noticed that they have a factory installed boost gauge. Does anybody know if it is actually accurate, I guess the whole point of the post is why don't dodge do this and just go the extra step and put in an EGT gauge also.

yeah ford's is accurate. if dodge did install one it would probably be like the oil pressure gauge. It would only tell you what they want you to see. :D

Not to hijack the thread, but my 03 oil press gage shows high when cold, low at idle hot, and center in normal driving. Why is that bad?

Has anyone pulled the plug on the oil sensor and the gauge stayed on center and there was no code set? I read some rumors that the gage reads off the alternator voltage or some such bizzarre thing, but any one proved it?

the "oil pressure" sending unit is a pressure switch. that's it, that's all. it does not read any variable readings. anything over 6psi and the ecm shows pressure and controls the movement of the glorified idoit light. below 6 psi gauge drops to 0 and warning lights go on.
