Hey all,

Just looking for some confirmations here.

I've read everywhere I can but is it normal for the auto meter boost gauge to sit at zero when just putting around or at highway speeds for y'all? trying to see what I should be at?

Sig wont fill for some reason but the truck is a 2012 ram 2500ccsb 2wd 6spd, s465 2nd gen swap, fass 165gph pump, HPP tuning, valair dual disk ceramic clutch. Auto meter Z-series boost and egt gauges.

Not normal, particularly at highway speeds. The only time my 06 boost is zero is if I'm off the throttle. Are you sure you didn't kink that crappy tubing autometer includes with the gauge?

Yep, those Diesel run as a naturally aspirated Engine with low load, and driving on a flat interstate is low load.
I see that a lot.

If it's stock you've got that throttle valve in the intake that closes when the EGR valve opens. That will effect the boost gauge readings.

I did watched my boost gage last night when driving home closely. I was doing about 35 MPH in 4th gear and the gage was reading just a crack above 0 psi. I do remember that at highway speeds when not towing my gage is between 0 and 5 or 6 psi. This is normal when I am just at slight throttle and in 6th gear. The engine is around 1500 RPM's and there is no load on the engine. In fact my egt's are just above 600F. I am using Dipricol Optix gauges on my truck.

Thanks All,

I have been watching my gauges and driving around say city roads I only hit above 10psi or more if i really lay into it. Cruising on the highway at 70 and the rpms at 2k im just about 1-2psi unless pulling a grade or getting on it to pass. EGTs stay around 600-800 pretty much all the time until a load or heavy throttle and they climb to 11-1200 and then start dropping off.

For all that I have read and read and READ and READ this seems normal for this setup and Turbo being a 2.5 class pulling turbo. Towing its all different of course but still runs in the normal range so thank you all for the responses and advice!!!!

Yes it can, until you step into it, it's also a way to know if your saving fuel. How did you set up your boost fitting and how long is the hose. Also the more bends, the more restriction it can have showing lower boost pressure. I used 3/8th puenamtic tubing to 1/4" just before the my module. I also tapped a 1/8npt fitting into the intake horn before the EGR valve.

I just ran the 6ft line of nylon tubing that came with the Auto meter gauge and installed it into my H&S intake horn. Then ran the line to the gauge. Seems to work just fine.
