About a week ago I installed my Dipricol guages - EGT, boost, and trans on the a-pillar (yes FP is going in the ashtray soon. ) The first step was to get everything in the cab, wired, and all cables through the firewall - this happened quite easily with some patience and time. Once I got that far, it was a few days before I was able to hook things up under the hood, and the lights were working and everything was well and quiet.

But, once I hooked up the boost guage, I get this internal rattle inside the guage whenever the boost pressure is dropping. It's silent when on 0, and silent when boost is rising, but rattles pretty bad when boost is letting off.

I have read quite a few threads on this, but most of them were old, and many had no follow up on solutions.

Some folks said get a snubber, but the Dipricol already has a pinhole of an intake on the guage, so I don't think the snubber would offer anything more.

Others said to use vacuum line or a fuel filter inline, I have not tried this yet but I'm not sure what a fuel filter would offer here, and how would I put it in an 1/8 vinyl line.

And most recently I've heard to move the boost tap from the 3/4" plug location behind the fuel filter where I have it now, and relocate it toward the front of the engine on the manifold. So in this case, it would move from the head to the manifold.

Any ideas or newly discovered information on this one ? I will post my solution once I find it.

TIA

I installed a boost guage on my brothers '01 HO and we removed the intake horn(mounted above the grid heaters) and tapped it below and inline with the dip stick tube. The tube gave us something to anchor the line to and no rattle.
