I have the CFM intake manifold and am going to install a boost guage. I have the CFM that does not have the three drilled ports that you can get, there are three ports they just arent drilled. I was wondering if anyone has tried drilling and tapping one of those ports and how smooth your experience was.

The CFM+ manifold is a plastic composite material... Whenever I have ever tried to drill into plastic, I have cracked the material while drilling.

Mike,
I know the owner and I will see him tomorrow . I will ask him for you. P. S. this isn't your everyday cheap roto molded plastic.

p-Bar,

That would be greatly appreciated if you would do that. If I remember right I thought some people have successfully drilled the CFM but I could be wrong. I dont know that the designers of the CFM would put those three undrilled ports on the manifold if they could not be drilled out but I could be wrong.

Why don't you just buy the boost bolt from Geno's? It is not very expensive and will save you time and effort. There will also be no risk of damaging your $$$$ intake.

Mike,

Spoke with the CFM+ owner today . He said just drill according to the tap size reccomended. Watch tapping due to the taper on the tap not tap all the way down to where the taper is gone. In otherwards do it by hand you should get pretty close to bottoming the brass when screwing it in, no need for teflon tape
