I've been hitting over 45 psi too easy lately. I have adjusted the gov arm and put in a new lift pump, fixed my fuel lines, slid my #6 full forward and its a beast.
I thought my leaking and weak waste gate actuator was the big issue allowing boost well over 40 psi. Rolling the throttle on briskly will only give me 40 psi unless I floor it causing a down shift. I haven't taken the HTT Street Stock turbo off to look inside, but the waste gate pivots freely and clicks open or closed. The turbo feels healthy, less than 30K on it.
Could my mods overcome the waste gate that easy, or maybe its not opening fully? Soot build up?
160 hp pump with 3K gov, high flow DV's, 370 marines, #6 slid forward, AFC just slid forward with no other mods, Htt 62/65/14 with BHAF. It will hit 50 psi at WOT when it kicks down a gear unloaded running solo, hits 90 to 100 mph quick. So I have been running the Valet switch on to limit things 40/45 psi in case I let it down shift on an on ramp.
Best way to control high boost before I pop a head gasket? Slide the fuel plate back some, or is it a waste gate issue? I think I had a max of 42 psi before. Would like to set it up for 40 psi max. The threaded shaft is a half inch longer this time, still doesn't limit boost.
