I started to put together a boost tester. Started with a 4"x3" fernco plumbing adapter. I slipped the 4" end on an old Hx-40 I had. Seems way loose. The OD of the turbo compresser housing is maybe 3. 5". What did you guys do? Just tighten it real good?

Bill, hate to give advice without being specific but since my tester got used in a plumbing project and is now three feet under the ground I will anyways. I just used a 3" or 4" PVC slip cap (size is what I don't remember) with 1/4" hole tapped in it for an air fitting. Fits perfectly into the airbox side of the intake tube to the turbo and can be hose clamped tight. You may have to grind off any ribs on the cap to make it smooth. Only one $3 part involved and you can use it to cap off a pipe when you're done.

Thats what worked for me. When you apply a little pressure the boost tester will try to walk off the end of the turbo. My tester is long enough the alternator holds it in place. When tightend down all the way it did'nt leak

:D :D :D

While we're talking about the boost elbo, would this be a good place to reduce boost if we wanted to by adjusting the small allen setscrew?

Turn the allen head set screw out to open wastegate sooner. Less Boost. I believe Joe D said once every 1/6th of a turn was 2 lbs boost.
