Boost Mod and elbow ?

I posted a previous question on what injectors to go with my VA. Got alot of good replies, but not clear on one thing, so bare with me here. Some said I need a boost module and boost elbow to go with this combo. My ? is do I or not, if so what make is best? Where is the best place to purchase for the price? Does the elbow come with the module? Does this connect to a seperate place then the VA? Should I get the module from DD and does it replace the VA? By the way I am very happy with the VA at this point so not real interested in changing to EZ. I have decided to go with the DD1's and am not looking for much more after this. Also just ordered my JRE 4" turbo back exhaust. Thanks to all. Dwayne.

I have the VA with Practical Solutions Boost Module, and it works great! You can't go wrong with anything from Gordon at Practical Solutions, and his instructions are first rate. Ray

Dwayne, to answer your questions the boost module does not replace the VA. It "hides" the boost value from the ECM once the boost is over 20 PSI or so. It plugs into the Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) sensor, takes the signal from the sensor and clips the signal going back to the ECM when necessary. This allows you to run over 20 PSI of boost without thowing an overboost check engine light. The elbow goes in the compressor housing of the turbo replacing the factory elbow. The new elbow will bleed off some of the boost that is used to open the wastegate keeping the wastegate closed until a much higher level of boost is reached. DD1's, a VA, and a boost module should get you around 34 PSI peak boost. It will run really strong and EGT's shold not be a concern. Good luck and hope this helped answer some of your questions.

Since it won't let me edit I will post another message. I think you do need a boost module with DD1's and a VA. The boost module will include an elbow. Personally I would buy the module from the cheapest source I could find as it is not a real high tech piece, If it works it works IMO.

Ditto on the PS. I have a VA and the PS elbow kit. Factory injectors. Good setup. But will be going larger injectors soon.
