Has anyone ever tried a boost module on a stock truck?
What is the max boost (psi) the stock injectors will create if there is a module and the waste gate is bombed?
Does anyone have documentation on this?
Tom

I did a boost module on mine stock, didn't add any noticeable power but boost ran up to about 28-30 psi. Joe Donnelly says running boost higher than needed is fruitless since you're losing efficiency through needless pumping losses moving more air.

I agree with Vaughn that it is probably not going to add much (if any) to your performance. The big drawback is that your going to throw a code and turn on your check engine light without a computer to "fool" the system into believing it's only getting 20 pounds or less.

WaterBrain,

The Boost Module is what keeps the computer from seeing high boost and setting error codes or defueling.

You wiil see little if any power increase but may see lower EGT's. The boost module works with larger injectors allowing more fuel for more power While keeping smoke and EGT's down... KwikKurt

Say, wouldn't this be a good thing to do on an ETH? Seems I read of EGT problems because of the higher compression ratio. A little extra air couldn't hurt could it?

Notice my signature and therefore my sudden interest?

I was just wandering, oops, wondering if a module that would allow say 24-25 psi would let the stock injectors add more fuel. Not that it would be practical but would increase my understanding of how this thing works.

I used a PS Boost module on my stock truck (ETH) for about a week before my 275's came in. It made a difference in throttle response, but didn't add any noticable power. It did lower the EGT's by about 100-125 degrees.

The 275's that I installed did wonders for the truck. Gave it a whole new attitude. Can't wait till I add my "Hot" PE. #ad
