coming down to florida towing 10,000lbs i was hitting 30-45psi of boost sustained on some of the hills. i thought the stock turbo only pushed 28psi before the gate opened. is this normal?

I take it that wasn't the truck in your sig. The '04. 5 and ups are supposed to see over 30 psi stock. With mods that will go higher. It also depends where you read boost from the map reads to 39psi or so.

Was it the mega cab you were driving? And does the TS Ramifier have boost fueling built into it? If it does then that could be why your seeing boost psi's that high.

It cant be the mega he has injectors, TS and a SPS 64 listed in sig.

My stock turbo could see those #'s with the Edge on a stock turbo. BUt not all stock.

Stock 32 is the max...

With Injectors and a the TS Ramifier (looks like boost fooling and rail pressure) I am not surprised... I bet the EGT's were COOKING at 40 psi.

sorry guys...

this is with the stock turbo, ramifier plugged un but not turned up, and edm 70 injectors. my SPS died 2 years ago. got to get it back to industrial injection and have them take a look at it. maybe they can even make it better for the manual truck. i think it was built for my 2004. 5 auto.

temps were getting hot but always kept it under 1400*

Either the Ramifier is boost fooling, or the WG control is stuck closed (lucky you), or the WG line is pinched off. What exactly DID you do to get a stock turbo to boost that high?

even with the ramifier turned down it does boost fooling. it does seem higher than i would have thought but its not totaly unbeliveable

I can only get 35psi (at the intake horn) with the Smarty on #9, and waste gate turned off. Your boost #'ers seem hi, but enjoy!!

James

Hmm. . your numbers seem low :-laf... I can hit 35 on SW1 with timing only and no additional fueling. Maybe your draining the rail on SW9, thou you have the FASS??

Yes I have rail gauge, it will stay at about 22-23 on Smarty#9.

I just got back from a weekend road trip and running hard all the way up to 160km/h she will hit 40-42psi now, the earlier #'ers I posted were in the city with the od locked out, sorry!. I guess I didn't load the engine enough?
