I have just installed a combo. Boost and EGT Gage. The Boost gage reads very low 5lb or less at idle or just norman driveing. If I jam it to the floor it may go to 10lb. Is this normal If the truck is not under load?

You should not see any boost reading at idle, no load on the engine. At WOT, you should see around 20 psi's. Check your boost line and see if it's kinked or twisted. Really easy to do with an 1/8" tube. Also, check your boost line connection at the source and the gauge, if all are tight take her for a good run and up a decent grade, you should be seeing more than 10psi.

I would check 2 things. First, check that you didn't over tighten the nuts on the plastic tubing. The ferules will pinch the soft plastic and create a block so you wont read accuratly, if at all.
Second, my gauge was stuck at 5 psi when I got it and I had to use it for about 3 weeks before it would move without rapping it hard.

the engine must be under load to develop boost, even in neutral at WOT you will only see a pound or two of boost. the boost gauge will be very dynamic depending on you driving style and the load of the engine.

My combo gauge from Geno's would only read 0 to 8 psi. Tap on the gauge and then it read 6 to 14. I reran the tubing in 3/8 gas line all the way so there would not be any kinks, still same result. Called Geno's and they sent me a new gauge. New gauge works good now.

Your combo gauge may be bad, call Geno's and talk to them.

I've got a stock truck and I've hit 21 pounds of boost on my gauge. It won't stay there, but it has peaked there. 5-6 pounds is normal for my truck. Wind conditions, hills and the load on the truck will cause the boost to vary. When I'm towing and running 65-70 mph. boost will usually be a steady 10-12 pounds, again factoring in weather and terrain. Hope this helps.

It sounds like the guage is bad. 'Course you've heard that song before. 40# boost and loving every minute of it! #ad
