Do you only get a reading on your boost when you have your foot in to it, mind does not read when it is sitting at idle is this normal.

It's normal. My trucks run about 4 psi on the flat empty. Give it some pedal, a load and hill and they will hit 35 psi.

You use your boost gauge as a sort of an indicator of how much power your making. It's an old trucker rule that you're making almost 10hp for every 1psi of boost. Cruise at 4 to 6psi,you're making 40 to 60hp. Hill climbing you get about 10 to 12psi,about 100hp depending on load... makes sense, but it's a very loose rule. You won't be making power at idle-zero boost.

Also, kinda keep track of what your cruising and max boost is,that way if you ever notice it's lower than usual, you can trouble shoot for boost leaks.

In Neutral, Or Park, You can rev your engine up to about 2,500RPMs and should se about 2Lbs of Boost. That's what I see, And All I have for now is a straight Pipe. #ad

Lack of boost at idle and low-fueling situation is why they make Boost/Vacuum combo gauges. For us diesel lovers, the vacuum is irrelevant because we have a vacuum pump and a seperate vacuum distribution system. So, boost away! You won't see boost (as previously mentioned) until you put a load on the engine. Maintaining 65 MPH on level ground, my truck runs around 5-7 PSI boost and 650-700 degrees pre-turbo on the EGT gauge.

so when i see 45psi it means im making 450hp??? never been on a dyno yet but i estimate it to be around 397hp at the flywheel with the pmx3 on 9 and alot more of that is making it to the back wheels now that i got DTT'D

I just put my EZ on my truck thur. and the turnbuckle on fri. and I see 29-30 lbs. I don't think my truck is making 290 hp w/o any other mods. I can definately feel the power. It's a blast, but 290?
I'll put in the BD1s after I get the DTT TC&VB installed. It finally came on thur. WOOHOO! It took two weeks because fed ex couldn't find the address. Sound familiar Iceman?
BTW did you get everything sorted out w/ your VB? I've been meaning to call you. Maybe next week
