Unloaded around town = 0 - 3

Unloaded on freeway = 2 - 4

Towing flat on freeway = 5 - 8

Accelerating or towing uphill = 12 - 18

Wastegate should prevent boost from going higher than 18. Boost will not build as easily if you're revving it up in Park because there is very little load on the engine and thus not a lot of heat for exhaust side of turbo. Redline for the stock '95 should be 2700 or so rpm.

10 seems low if you're talking about full throttle up hill or towing.

Mine started defueling at about 2200 rpm.

You might check for clogged air filter, cat, try plugging the waste gate, check/replace the overflow valve.

Thanks.

Tested fuel pressure it was low so I replaced the overflow valve. Adjusted the throttle linkage it was on wrong (Dodge realy needs to have someone to go around and make sure the dealers are doing the recalls correctly. ) Adjusted the valves. It seems to have fixed it. It now builds to 15psi.

I wasn't reving it in park I put it in low one foot on go pedal other on brake.

In regard to dealer's competence with the recalls, it would be interesting to see a thread started on that including DC's customer relations performance.

I have had three recalls on mine since moving to this part of WA.

They got one right and miserably failed the other two.

One being the throttle cable replacement and the other was the front spring tower modification.

They did get the heater switch by-pass OK.

I agree, we should have a new thread for the dealers compentence. I WILL not take mine to the local dealer for anything!

Dealer competence on re-calls

Howard- My experience has been sour in your area of Washington State also. The Moses Lake dealer sent my wife home in my '91 with a replaced injector pump. Three miles from home (Royal City, about 30 miles from the dealer), she experienced a strong diesel fuel smell. The whole engine compartment was drenched. I don't know how we escaped a fire. The fuel lines at the injectors were only finger tight. They did give me a new under-hood insulation piece (to get the diesel out of the old one would take three years of daily soaking). But they acted like a bunch of boobs about the whole thing. Not even a smile, and/or apology. I mean, things happen, and I thought I was very pleasant through the whole mess.

Then, when the throttle linkage recall came for my '97, I went to Ephrata. I took the truck in idling nicely at about 750 rpm. They gave me back my truck, "All ready to go", idling at 1250 rpm. They howled like a mashed cat, but did adjust it back to the 750 rpm idle.

Dealers don't get to touch my baby after two-for-two.

Just want to add this, I do not think the stock red line is 2900 rpm! more like 2300-2450 rpm. And a stock auto should have a max boost pressure of 15-18 psi.

what dealer bashing

You have to remember the percentage of cummins truck sold to the percentage of total vehical sold,,,,,, Most tech dont know anything about diesel trucks,,,,,,,, put they can do a head gasket job on an neon in 3hrs or less with perfection,,,,, I loook at thinks differently at my family owner and operated dealership. I drive a cummins and we have several cummins truck in different parts of the business,,,,,,,, my tech better know there sh** on these truck. Most dealer do not take advantage of all the classes offered by the factory and cummins to better train their techs
