With my 03 SO and similar mods I would see a max boost of 22-23 psi. The HO's are typically 24-25 psi.

I've got an HO that's bone stock (as far as power mods). I see about 23. 5-24. 0 max boost. Never towed anything, so I figure I might see another 1 psi if I actually had some weight at WOT/max RPM.

whats wrong

Bone stock mine wont go past 19lbs, even with an edge EZ on it (no boost elbow) I dont get anymore then that. Whats the deal? Im running Autometer Phantom guages and have the Piers boost bolt for the hook up

I would check your intercooler clamps, make sure their tight and the fuel filter is good.

Also a clean air filter is helpful.

You also need a good load or steep grade to get an idea of your max boost. The mighty Cummins may not be working that hard on level ground.

I can hit around 23lbs just by flooring it even on the flat at any speed, boost climbs up in less than 5 seconds. I have not towed anything heavier than 5K and with that on it was the same thing. Measureing it with Autometer phantom series gauge.

High altitude will yield less boost, how high are ya?

Thanks, Ill check that when I get it back from the body shop. I plan on changing the fuel filter this weekend, and I dont think my air filter needs changing for a while but Ill check it. But I have been reading 19 PSI for while and I put threse guages on when the truck was like 1 month old. I think I can remeber back in Nov it maybe hitting 23 but I was in the back seat when my buddy was driving so I didnt get a good look.

yeah Im not to high up somewhere around 1300 feet or so.

other than a drop in afe filter...

i have no other mods. My average cruising is about 24-26 lbs. If i bury my right foot, no load in back or behind, i can easily see 28-29 lbs.

The other day, i had about 3000 lbs in the bed, and two extra people in the truck, fulll out on a slight incline i maxed out at 31. 5 lbs!!!!

Remember this is a bone stock SO with a 47re.....

I am still counting the days till i get my ez...

enjoy.

oren.

would the placement of the tube have anything to do with everyones diffrent numbers? Say if some are taped into the air intake and others have theres hooked up to the boost bolt? Im jsut trying to figure out why my numbers are lower then everyone else even the SO's.

You cruise at 24-26 psi!? My truck only hits that kind of boost at 100% load, so you must be breaking some serious speed laws.

OH! Okay, that makes a lot more sense. I thought maybe you were an Indy car driver or something!!
