boost/pyro/fp gauge question

Morning all,

I have been browsing for a while, and have not found any particular recommendations on a manufacturer for boost/pyro/fp gauges. I need to do a pillar mount if at all possible. Does anyone have any recommendation? They will be going into a '96 12v 5 sp, all stock.



Secondly, in regards to the pyro and boost, I am looking at engine and exhaust brakes, most likely the Cummins/Jake E-brake. Will the addition of the brake effect point of install, and should I have the brake done first?



And finally, can anyone recommends a good shop in Denver for gauge installation. I am not sure if Cummins/Rocky Mtn does them or not.

I installed the same setup on my '02 the other weekend. I have the Di-Pricol black face, which are easy to read, but the colors at night leave a little to be desired. I would have prefered the white-faced, but they had chrome on them. Can't stand chrome... ... .



The boost port is on the drivers side of the engine, so no problem with the exhaust brake. If you mount the pyro before the turbo (which is better IMHO), the exhaust brake will not effect it either.

I don't know if you need the FP gauge on a 12v. Us overvalved folks use them so we can see our stupid lift pump crapping out. I don't think that is a problem on the 12vs.



For install, I would see if the local TDR guys are having a bombing party. You can do it yourself, save some money, and have all of those folks there to answer your questions.

Gauges were easy to install, I did them myself after work one evening (installed 3 gauges in 4 hours, done before midnight). I bought my thru the Classified link here at TDR. Try Classified, Product Promotions,Vendor Promotions. At the bottom item #15. Got everything from Dave in a couple of days.

I installed Di-Pricols on my left pillar (3) plus another gauge on the steering pod (the boost gauge, which is a really great place for it!). I really like the visibility of these gauges... easy to read any time, and I really like the color at night. Have the black-face.



I found it fairly difficult to jam everything into the pillar and get it all to fit (exhaust, FP, and trans temp). Perhaps I was not very efficient, but it was an all-weekend project for me, but certainly worth it!



Makes driving more interesting to see more data!!

Thanks for all the input. I am gonna talk to all three of the vendors mentioned and see what the total prices boil down to. I might find some time to do it myself and save some cash, but...
