I am interested in adding boost and EGT guages to my Dodge 3500 and have been looking for comments and opinions on the various models of guages but cant seem to find much specific. I looked at the Combo guage sold by Jeno's garage but I think separate guages have to be more readable. I am also looking for something that will be reasonably easy to install.
Can anyone help me sort this out ?

Also, can anyone point me at a good diesel shop in mid-Florida for Diesel modifications and aftermarket accessories ?

Thanks for the help.

TST sells guages along with Camping World which sells US Gear guages. If you go to TSTs website they have instructions on how to install them. Even have pictures. I think the link is TSTperformance. Im sure someone on this site knows. Westach also hhas guages.

cjackg, the Geno's Garage combo gauge mounts very nicely in your '99 Ram (lower right corner of the dash). This can be viewed in (at least) the last two issues of the TDR (Geno's Garage supplement). Geno's provides the black Lexan mounting plate for the gauge upon request.

I elected to use the VDO Vision series gauges. These match the OE gauges EXACTLY (right down to the fiber optic red/orange needle and, green through the gauge lighting). With the, through the gauge lighting technology, these gauges are not as annoying as most other gauges when mounted on the A-pillar (and I have my gauge brightness setting at max. ).

I saw the westach combo guage at geno's , and my first thought was that the needles pivoted at the bottom, and that would be hard to read for sure. But they pivot at the sides, at 9 and 3. . I wish i had known this , I bought the isspro guages, now need room for more guages...

FYI, I have been looking at all kinds of gauges(Isspro, Autometer,Wastech, Kenworth) and so far the BANKS set seems to me like a cost effective set and look pro. The combo-gauge at Geno's looks cheap to me, having 2 needles bouncing off of each other doesn't appear like a good design. Hey, thats just my opinion!!! Good luck #ad

Hey guys,

I did a lot of checking around on this one. I inquired from several companies the method of calibration on their units along with % accuracy and hysteresis. I am very pleased with the guages from Westach www.westach.com . I purchased the 2" gauges:

Pyrometer with integral warning light, 400F to 1600F range, custom set point at 1000F for warning light. You can also hook up an alarm for the output as well. I really like this because you don't have to monitor the EGTs all the time. The set point for the warning light is adjustable as well (I think).

I also bought the boost gauge. They can change the range from 0-30 to 0-40 psi upon request, which I did.

I ordered these today, so I can give more feedback in a couple of weeks. Hope this helps.

Regards,
Michael

A couple more cool things about the Westach gauges, they make over 1500 different gauge configurations, so if you can dream it up, they probably make it.

Here are just a few of the many other dual gauges available:

2DC3-15 DUAL TT/OT INSTRUMENT 2-1/4", SQUARE, (T)=TRANS 100-400F /
(O)=OIL 100-260F, 12/24 VDC

2DC3-14 DUAL TT/CT TEMP INSTRUMENT 2-1/4", SQUARE, (T)=TRANS 100-400F /
(C)=COOLANT 100-260F, 12/24 VDC

2DC3-97 DUAL TRANS TEMP / TRANSFER CASE 2", ROUND, BOTH SCALES: 100-400F, 12/24 VDC

[note: 2 1/4" 'square' gauges can be converted to fit 2" round mounting holes]

In addition, for an extra $30 bucks, Westach will add a custom graphic or logo to your gauge face! Maybe a TDR logo or Ram logo - as long as it can fit in the space available.

Or, you can request custom wording for a gauge, like "Differential - FRNT - REAR" - or modify the range in the gauge scale - or request color coding (green-yellow-red) on the scale.

Aircraft quality, two gauges in the space of one and custom configurations, Westach dual (or single) gauges are hard to beat.

Looking in JCW cat; thinking about the digital temp guage for all 3 temps (oil, trans, rear). Would like the dual for boost and turbo temp. Ordered catalog for the Westech guages - will wait and c. .
