What kind of boost #'s should I be seeing? truck nis 215 horse manual with a 10 plate centered and 370 injectors. Truck has hx35 w/16 cm non wastegated housing. Peak boost I have seen in 5th is 30 lbs, seems low to me. I know I have a small leak in intercooler, what else might I check.

Thanks

Greg

i peg my 35lb gauge all the time, so i would imagine you should be seeing somewhere areound that area. check the boost line going from the turbo to the afc housing, the rubber line has a tendancy of dry rotting and when you are doing things like plates and what not one can damage it and not know. also check the intercooler hoses and elbows and make sure the band clamps are tight. probably should take care of the intercooler leak, i suspect this might be where your problem is.

Will pressure test intake system tommorrow. Just recently did headgasket, and studs. At that time I put the plate in centered, afc spring kit and 3k gov springs. After install of gov springs, idle didn't need adjusting at all. I have noticed that I have absolutely no pre boost smoke with both the afc and the star wheel full forward, could this be leading me to a problem with the boost sense line. I think it odd though, I have absolutely no bottom end.

Thanks,

Greg

What do you mean by "fuel plate centered". If this means installed in the same location as your original plate, that is great. If you just randomly put it in the center of the range, this might be your problem. . 020" makes a big difference. If you don't find anything else wrong, try moving it (the plate) forward about . 020" at a time and see what happens. Take good data first. Note the boost you get at several different rpm's at WOT. Then you have a good reference point.

I simply centered it in the adjustment range, maybe I'll see what happens with that after checking intake piping.

low boost

:) My 98 will do 42 lbs real easy, check the lower hose going to the intercooler and make sure the air conditioning line has not rubbed through it.....

My 96 would do 45-50 with no problem. Get them leaks fixed, check your afc line sounds like its not hooked up or burnt in half some where. Make shure your boots did not fold under the clamp.
