This is kinda long ,

Over the past 3 weeks I took a trip up to the North East then out to New Mexico. Before that I had a brake job on the front new pads and turned the rotors. When comnig back from New Mexico I was running about 75-80 from Santa Rosa to Clovis. I pulled up to a stop light in Clovis and when it turned green I had to get up to about 2400 rpm before the truck would move. It seemed to not pick up 1st gear. I could do the manual shift thing and it was a little better. transmission temp went up from 140 to about 200 ,it was 140 before I stopped.

I took the batteries off and did the pedal reset deal and it improved a little. Yesterday I took it in for regular service and to have the transmission looked at, they replaced the speed sensor? and changed the fluid in the transmission and rear. They also did a valve adjustment. Now the transmission shifts better but it still feels as if there is a really heavy load of resistance on it. Someone else posted something simular to this last week. I was running empty,no trailer but had pulled one to Canada and back to New Mexico. Approx 5000lb

My transmission temp is back up to 170 even after service and before this it stayed at 140.

Any thoughts on where to look now? Almost forgot it now take about 8 pounds of boost to keep it at 65-70mph as opposed to about 2-4 pounds before the transmission started freaking out.

Thanks

Jeff

Is there a easy way to tell if they are sticking?? Brakes just aren't my thing!

Then if they are what would my options be?

Thanks

the way I would check disc brakes for sticking is to drive and brake hard enough to get the brakes hot , then jack up the front end and turn the wheel, if it turns real hard or not at all their sticking, and you need to replacethe calipers.

well I checked the brakes with a IR thermometer and they are with in a few degrees of each other around 115 degrees. went out and drove on the interstate this afternoon and the temp was up around 170 then around 200 in town. It does feel like the t/c is not working correctly. Am I correct in thinking if it is not locking up then the temps would go up and if it is not locking up it would take more juice to keep the truck in motion? Anyway I am taking the transmission guru for a ride tomorrow afternoon and see what he comes up with. I think if the guys had spent just a few minutes longer with it when it was in for service it would not have to go back.

Thanks
