I wouldn't think of doing any mode's without an EGT gauge. I'm allready hitting 1200* with my 12cm (pre turbo). Like it was said in another thread, stock torque plates slide forward with there torque curve result in higher EGT's than compared too torque plate curves like from the kits from TST. I plan on getting a 4" exhaust and a 250 TST plate, I think that would make the diffrence. A friend of mine has a 92 dodge D350, 5spd with the 160hp straight piped with a stack comming up through the right side of the bed (turned up a little) , and the highest EGT's that he can get floored is 850*. Though, he has a non waste gated 21cm housing, that might explain that. opp's I forgot... he has his probe mounted after the turbo. So he must be hitting around 1050* with the vp pump. I guess it's kinda hard to compare his truck with mine being that I have a P7100 pump and he has a squash plate pump.

I think the old pumps are maxed out when the fuel screw is all the way open. NO more. However, that's good power for most things you want to do. With a P7100 pump you can put in a #5 plate, big delivery valves, governor spring kit, and big injectors to really get some power. Of course, then you start tearing up things including your bank account. Mine hauls butt the way I have it. I have to watch the EGT on long steep hills pulling my TT. A big exhaust would probably help that, but I can lift instead which is a lot cheaper for the few times I have to do that.
