Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Boost specifications

TDR issue # 51 states that my 98. 5 w/ auto has a boost specification of 18- full throttle under load- at times I have registered 30 lbs. of boost, pulling a hill, full throttle with my 5 th. wheel attached. I should note I have an AFE air filter with the supplied boost elbow to replace the stock elbow. Is this higher boost harmful to my engine?

not really. As long as EGT is in check, which it should be if stock at that PSI. I dont relly understand that chart, I mean i do, but my 5 spd stock made over 25psi easily and never set an over boost code, which is supposed to happen at like 21 psi.



??? Any answers out there for that?



I also noticed the 98. 5's listed at 420 lb ft TQ. I swear the Late 98 sales lit. I had says 460 lb ft. Was that a projection on the later engines?
