Hello all, I've been running an Edge EZ for about 1. 5yrs, I never put the turnbuckle on my wastegate (auto), my boost never ran higher than 21-22psi. Last week driving home it jumped to around 30+. I took the edge ez off and stock it will run about 25-26psi. Did something break in my wategate?, it feels like it has more power, so Im debating taking it in while its still under warranty and having it fixed (then put turnbuckle on), or should I just leave it and enjoy the newfound power? The truck is going to go to the dealer for some other minor fixes anyway. Thanks

Did you check for codes?

I'm wondering if your boost gauge is accurate?

After taking off the ez you should have set an overboost code at 25-26psi, or been real close.

My other WAG is some type of obstruction in the waste gate acting "like" a boost elbow.

I know the gauge is accurate, because before it was always real consistent at 21-22psi when the wastegate activated. I thought about throwing a code too, but a couple times I floored it to 25-26psi and no light. I wonder if it is possilbe to "wear out" the wategate, it had to activate alot when I would drive with the ez

Seems high.........

With just an EZ I doubt you could make 30+ pounds of boost. The 25-26 sounds about right if you were really under load.

Only thing I cant imagine is what would make a boost gauge read high?? I could see an obstruction making it read low, but not the other way around.

A restriction in the line going to the wastegate actuator, a broken or loose boost line going to the wastegate actuator, a ruptured diaphragm in the wastegate actuator (if so equipped - I haven't torn an actuator apart) or any mechanical restriction keeping the wastegate from opening could produce the higher boost pressures you're noting.

Look at his sig.........

JoelPry has an ETC with the HY turbo, and as that's what both of mine are so that's what I based the comments on. ETH's have the larger turbo and are fueled differently to begin with.

I have an ETC with the baby turbo and see 30-31 lbs easily, I mean immediately after stabbing the throttle. This is with an EZ and turnbuckled wastegate.

Just going on what mine do.......

The 01 & 02 both have injectors and will max at 31 - 32 lbs of boost.

The 01 also has a PDR HX-35 now. The HX does have an elbow though. Even when I had a non wastegated 14cm² housing it couldn't push much past that, maybe 34 on a long hard run.

EDIT: KKaiser I just read your sig, maybe there's something to be said for the mega cannon!!!

Garrett,

I did pickup about a pound with the MegaCannon, but before it's install, I still saw 29-30 lbs. I mean I see this whenever I roll on the throttle on the highway or stab it at slow speeds. It jumps up there and stays until I back out. I checked the gauge after an EZ removal for dealer work and it stuck around 20. Sure was doggy though!:)
