Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Boost Tube

Have 99 24 Valve That Keeps Blowing The Boost Tube Off When I'm Pulling Trailor. Put New Clamp On And Blows At A Different Place. Truck Only Produces 30 To 32 Lbs. Any Thoughts On Whats Going On?

Intercooler boot? Never heard of a boost tube.

I'd suggest putting aftermarket boots. I believe Pier sells a nice kit. They are expensive though.



The passenger's side on on the intercooler pops off mine once in a while.

Geno's also sells aftermarket boots (not sure who actually makes them). I would try cleaning up the tubes and rubber boots, spray some hairspray on them, and put them back together. Sounded weird when I was first told to do it to cure mine, but it's worked for me.

Silicone boots!!!



Just like you I had always had the lower pass. side boot blow off when at about 30# towing... . Bought silicone boots from Mr. Bob's which have a nice spring clamps, now they never pop off at 40 # with my new turbo.....
