Currently running an EZ, Mach 1. 2s & a PDR 35\12. Max boost about #29-#30 psi & still having EGT issues when pulling our #8500 5vr. Seems I'm needing more boost but unsure of max usable boost pressure. Also, is the stock OEM 12 cm housing & wastegate adjustable?

Thanks,

Clay

You have a boost elbow?

Are the high egt's during normal cruising or just when going up a grade? I see you live in Washington, plenty of them there. Is it when the torque converter is locked in or out? What gear?

Godspeed,
Trent

Only when pulling grades. TC locked. 3rd direct with my new 4. 10s... . I'm thinking I need to get to #35 at a minimum...

About 35psi at sea level is about as high as you'll wanna take a 35/12 (less at higher elevations). Once you cross 35psi and the turbo chokes, you can actually see the pyro speed up as the exhaust can't get out of the engine fast enough. I think the 35/12 has something like 70psi of drive pressure at 35psi of boost, so you'll definitly be on the outside of the efficiency range.

The easiest way to adjust the output of the stock turbo is with an adjustable wastegate. Sourceautomotive. biz has 'em for around $15.

Adjust your elbow to get #35 max! More than that & you are just heating the air. If your egt's still run high you might try a 14 cm housing. Be sure to check for boost leaks.
