I have been checking out my truck for a trip I am taking so I took it for a ride, I was doing about 60 and then mashed the peddle. I watched the boost gauge go up to almost 40 psi. Stock I think max boost pressure is 21psi. With the Power Pack I am not sure what it should be, I have seen 32 psi without any worry but this is the first time I have gotten on it since I changed my lift pump. When I bought this truck It already had the kit installed so I really don't know to much about it. Does anyone know what the max boost is for this setup is, and how much boost is considered safe. If it is to much boost I was thinking the waste gate is not working properly, I tryed moving it by hand and it seems stuck. Is it normally had to open? Any thoughts?

Bank's Bighead Wastegate and 14 2cm Quickspool turbo housing.

26 psi max.

Check the turbo's boost elbow. Is it stock? Blocked or occluded some way? ( nail, . 22 cal shell, etc... . ) Blocking off the Wastegate boost line (blue?) will cause overboost like you described.

I have the same kit and had as much as 44lb.

If you do not have a blockage in the tube to the waste gate, you can adjust it.

From under the truck you pull off the clip from the shaft on the arm at the waste gate, and unscrew the shaft to make it longer this will lower your boost. 2 to 3 turns should do it.

Use compressed air to the tube to the actuator to help get the shaft back in to the arm at the waste gate. It is stout. You can test the actuator this way too.

38lb. is the max you should have any more you start loosing power. Unless you have changed lots of other parts.

With additional mods to the truck, a Bank's kit WILL produce upwards of 48 psi on a 14cm2 housing ( DD 2s) but it is useless boost and not something I would do more than once.

The Bank's kit is a baby bomber kit. A Cummins owner can do WAY better for A LOT less money.

The best thing about Bank's is the advertising.
