Is there an easy way to check for boost leaks?

My truck normally would hit 28-30psi, and now only 24-26psi. I changed the guage to fix the shakey needle (didn't fix BTW)... possible a guage is that far off? I don't have the old one, so I can test my theory.

What's the normal boost for a 98 24 valve?

I took a piece of 1/8" particle board and cut into 4" circle to fit in the end of the hose between the airbox and turbo inlet. Drilled a hole in the middle and put in an old tire vavle stem. Clamp this where the airbox would connect to, and hook up an air source (keep the air PSI under 40). I use an air bladder for an air source.

Real easy to hear leaks. Else put some soap spray on joints and watch for bubbles.

In case your wondering, I guess the Super Chip programmer allows more boost. I don't have in on there anymore, and I can't make more than about 23-24psi of boost.

Whenever I ran my superchip I noticed an increase of about 3 or 4 lbs of boost, but I didnt ever hit more than 25 or so with it, intake and exhaust.

Stock, my wastegate was set to open at about 25 psi. The stock ECM defueled at about 21-22 psi. I am going to guess that, since you are not running the Superchips, the 23-24 psi you are seeing should be about normal.
