My 02 boost never goes PSI. Still stock. Is this because of the wastegate or the fuel control?

If I blocked off the wastegate how high would the boost go?

Rclark,

From what I understand, the stock engine will start defueling above 20psi. I don't know what psi you could reach by disabling the wastegate, but if you don't have a boost module (chip) of some kind, I believe you'd end up setting a fault code anyway.

Without the additional fuel, extra boost probably won't help your performance any.

This is true. The MAP or Boost sensor (same thing . . different names) measures boost and defuels between 20 and 25 psi. the wastegate mechanically limits to 25psi. if the ECM detects boost over 25psi it sets a fault code.

Any of the fueling boxes will have the boost fooler built in. They plug in between the MAP sensor and ECM and clip the voltage to below 25 psi readings for the ECM to prevent the fault.

I use the Power Edge Comp and love it.

FWIW,

Mark
