Concealed carry law passed in Missouri

Been there ... done that once before. I was following Gary & Frank so I don't remember where, but on the way back, what a PIA.

Pulled us in, questioned, 3rd f&(@ing degree.

I'm thinking of heading up again soon, will come up 5 thru Calif, Oregon & Washington.

Is there a 'better' border crossing where they don't give you the 3rd degree? I don't know if we just drew an unlucky # or if one is better than another.

Thanks,

Forrest

I've been told that training for cusoms agents is done in Seattle. Because of this the Seatac airport as well as border crossings closest to Seattle have plenty of new, green customs guys that are eager to do prove themselves.

I cross borders frequently and am quite familiar with dealing with customs and immigration at both land crossings and in airports. I've found it's best to just make sure and understand you're not doing anything wrong, have all your ducks in a row, tell em nothing but the truth and only answer the questions they ask. Sometimes they like to treat you like a criminal just to see what you come up with.

I hope they treat the crooks and illegals as bad as us honest people get it at times.

Also, bring home whatever truck parts you want, just bolt em onto the truck first and avoid paying the duty etc :D

Thanks Lynden & Mike.

As for bolt on ... yep. She made a lot of leading statements, which I didn't respond to ... no question asked. You're right, a lot of "prodding" w/o asking a question. I didn't bite.

She said "valve springs & governor springs, why would you come all the way up here to have the work done?" I said, "because THE MAN is up here. " She didn't get it.

eh ... can't do the 27th :(

need to coordinate with Mark @ PDR, but more like travel 10/4, full day of work @ PDR on Monday, leave end of day Monday back down I5.

Just checking out the Mapquest, I don't see Aldergrove. What hwy # is it on Bob?

Sweetgrass

Went thru the border at Sweetgrass Montana Aug. 1st. They made me stand in front of my truck and searched it front to rear about 20 minutes worth. PITA it was hot and I was tired they were freindly enough but still a pain. Why me????

If it wasnt for Piers being there you couldnt pay me to go back to Canada. I went to see Piers right after MM last year with a friend of mine and they tore my truck apart for over an hour, threw my stuff all over the inside, were rude and belligerent. We are both 60years old and neatly dressed and groomed. What a crock of crapola.

Summer of'98 I went across at Seattle after doing a show for VW, had to sit for 3 F'N hours inside then another 1. 5 hrs by my truck and trailer while they went thru everything, let me rephrase that "EVERYTHING' even had two mean looking dogs with them!! Excuse me sir "is there any traces of gunpowder in your vehicle"

"scuse me sir are you carrying illegal drugs", blah blah blah. Couple of days later after leaving Edmonton came thru Couttsat 1 in the morning went inside, stamped my papers and was told to have a safe trip! Anyone know if they still sell R-12 cheap up there?;)
