Hey folks... putting a Borgeson Shaft on my '90, took the little plastic pin out of the old coupler and it's giving me trouble coming off. How hard DO you have to wack it?? I don't want to screw up anything in the steering box itself. Is there another pin holding it on besides the little orange plastic one? I figured I'd ask here before I break out the big hammer.

Try searching any date under borgeson - essentially the plastic pin goes through the real pin. Drive out that pin and it slips off very easily. I ran into exactly the same situation. Finally got enough light and had it cleaned up to see the metal pin.

Hey guys, I'am in the need of replacing my shaft as well. Can I buy directly from Borgeson or do I have to go to a parts store that deals with Borgeson and how much do they cost? Is it worth getting a Borgeson shaft? Thanks in advance.
Tony

Most people get it from the mfg. directly. I just sold an extra one yesterday from the classified section. A tad bit over $200. 00 shipped. Well worth the $$$$ Mike

the first thing i did was take a wire brush to the whole thing. The little orange thing fits inside the real pin. I don't even know what the orange thing needs to be in there for. First unbolt the upper part of the shaft that has the 4 bols connecting to the rubber bushing in front of the fire wall. I used a pickel fork or tie rod end puller to wedge between the little box end and the steering box. worked good for me
