Has anyone rebuilt the u-joints in the borgeson steering shaft? Mine are shot, clunking and banging somethin' terrible. Just spent a housenote in the front end, DT adjustable track bar, ball joints, tie rods etc. The banging on the steering shaft has got to go. Ideas????

If they're anything like a stock unit, then rebuilding the u-joint is pretty difficult without proper tooling & measuring equipment. The u-joints are a slight press fit into the bore and are pressed a certain amount to cause the ears to spread several thousanths of an inch and need a certain force that is monitored during the bearing insertion process. This helps remove & control the lash that will develop between the bearing cap and cross. Also the stock unit doesn't have any retainers but instead stakes the metal holding the bearing and thus can't be replaced - again, I'm not sure how Borgeson builds theirs but it's probably similar.
