Brought the fiver out of storage this weekend. Towed it about 40 miles or so. What a truck! Pulled the trailer beautifully. Handling and braking all superb. Looking forward to pointing this rig south.

Nice thing was that no adustments were needed in the towing setup. I thought I might have to adjust the pin box but she looks nice and level the way it is.

That trailer in my driveway is a sure sign of spring. Happy St. Patty's Day to you all.

 Nice Looking setup Casey. Neighbor had an American Star and loved it. Traded it in (along with selling his house) for a Kountry Coach class A.

Casey... ..... looks Awesome!!!... wait til you get some miles on it... then it really shines!!. . my truck had 430 miles when I first towed (60 miles up and down hills) and after I un hooked... it felt like someone put a chip in it... second tow of 300+- miles and 2400 on the truck AMAZING..... pulls better than my 97 chipped up PSD... . mileage jumped from 9 pulling 14. 5klbs to 12 and around town jumped from 13 to 17 mpg... and..... ITS QUIET!!...

have fun and enjoy... .

Felt good to bring ours out this weekend also. We cleaned it up and are getting ready to head out with it in a couple weeks. Thank God camping season is around the corner. That means " NO MORE SNOW " for a little while. :D

I like the snow, but when you can't work because of it, it hurts. :(

Just pulled mine out Friday. Put the underslung axle kit on it. Gonna clean it up this week, and headed south to Talladega for the race 1st weekend in april. Oo.

Thats a great looking truck. I havnt gotten used to the new style yet and not sure I will but that truck of yours could change my mind.

Good looking rig. We also took our fiver out of the moth balls this past week took it on a 1200 mile run, you can't ask for a better feeling than pulling the fiver somewhere/ anywhere, and with the CTD and no worries, Have fun Harv

Why doncha tell us how you really feel?

That thing is awesome aint it? I got to take on some wicked mountain roads last weekend and I can tell ya, you're gonna love that e-brake too!:D

Lookin good Casey. How does this truck pull compared to the 97? By the way the tailgate looks and works great. It sure makes it easier for hooking and unhooking the trailer. We just got back from a trip down south and it works great.

Now you need a bigger trailer to size up to that big ol truck...

Greg, funny you should mention that. Working on a 36 foot Newmar Mountain Aire. In the negotiating phase right now. ;-)

Mike,

Glad that tailgate worked out well for you. I put the same brand back on the new one. Painted black of course. The new truck has more power for sure and the brakes are a real improvement. The dually is a definite improvement in stability. The exhaust brake was a good decision even if I did have to mortgage the house to get it. ;-) Come on out to Holiday Beach some weekend. We will be there pretty well every weekend for the summer after we get back from Gulf Shores on May 4th.

Enjoy the summer.
