Hi all. Just wanted to let the mild BOMBer's (like me) know that injector-man, at Midwest Fuel Injection, is back and selling new Bosch 275 HP RV injectors for $250. 00 on eBay.

Apparently the massive price hike, at the end of last year, didn't work out for Bosch or their dealers. Only a $25. 00 increase after the dust settled.

I already picked up a set. Yahoo! :D

ALetourneau,

I just got the 275's this week. I haven't noticed any smoke, but I haven't been watching for any either.

Before the EZ, the truck did good pulling an all-steel stock trailer, loaded with gear, hay and two horses, over the Rockies.

The exhaust brake was my new toy at the time (which did an awesome job).

I had the EZ during my next over-the-Rockies trip and was very impressed with how the truck towed.

Loading the engine in high elevations caused some smoke though.

The EZ gives a nice snappy acceleration with an empty truck.

I planned on 275's, from Santa Claus last Christmas, but my plans got snuffed when the price went up to $630 plus a $300 core charge.

With that, I started looking at Diesel Dynamics Stage 1 and Stage 2 injectors. A bit out of my budget, but cheaper and more ponies.

I was leaning toward the DD2's (only $100 more than DD1's) but was worried about EGTs and the stock clutch.

I was also getting wrapped up in the "EZ's timing advance" issue with DD2's.

Then, the price dropped back down on the 275's, so I went with my original plan.

The 275's are a real nice upgrade for $250, IMO. I really like them with the EZ. I haven't towed with them yet.

I have the stock exhaust and a modified stock air box. I'll be happy with this setup for quite a while. No worries or regrets.

As Tim said, "Ez and 275 make a nice safe combo. "

Someday I might get DD2's or EDM Mach 1. 5's, but no plans. I only got stung by the BOMB bug, not bitten.

What would the real world comparison in power be between the 275's and DDII's? and I assume there is NO core charge for the 275's, so you could keep, and go back to the stockers if the 275's didn't work out?

Gary,

Maybe I missed something, but I didn't pay a core charge for my DD2's. My stock HO injectors are sitting in a box on a shelf in my garage should I ever decide to put them back in.

I have 275's, Edge EZ, straight exhaust and BHAF in my 2001 6spd and love the combination for towing. I can make the pickup smoke, especially in warm weather, but under normal driving I get very little smoke. I run out of EGT before I run out of power with this setup when towing. I can also tell you from experience that this is enough power to slip the clutch, especially when the RPM's drop.

I have thought seriously about putting DDII's or Mach 2's in but I really don't know if it would give me anymore USUABLE power without upgrading my turbo and exhaust. I guess injectors will have to wait for me regardless since my clutch is slipping while running empty now.

Rusty, wonder what you paid for those DDII's? I thought they ran up around $500 or better - never checked exact prices - but if that's close, the cost difference between those and the price of the 275's IS the core charge - it's just built in to the out-the-door price! ;)

BUT, I may be all wet on my estimate of the cost of the DDII's... Wouldn't be the first time... :)

Gary,

I got mine for something less than $500, but that was the week before the TDR discount at Diesel Dynamics went away. :D

Gary,

No core charge here for the 275's and probably 40-50 less hp difference, or so I've been told. Phil

MAN, that dyno chart gives a good edge to the DDII's - but the DDIII's are AWESOME! Lots more power, especially WAY lower in the RPM curve - wonder what sacrifices are made to average MPG and driveability with the III's?

I know that you tow, the 3's are going to give you alot of heat without a bigger turbo..... The 2's are supposed to be a big hit with those who tow. :D Phil

I did the rv275's after I had done the exhaust. Man, what a difference in spool up times and general feel. I don't have an EZ because I still have the stock clutch. My unloaded mpg might have went up a little, but my towing mpg defintely gained by around 2 mpg under moderate loads. Also, I seem to get the same unloaded mpg almost no matter how I drive, around 20 to 21 mpg.

I went on ebay and saw the RV 275's and I also saw Bosch 300hp injectors-the seller says they are used in fire equipment. Is this for real?? I've seen 300hp injectors being sold for 12v but never for the 24v's. If these are really out there does anyone have them?? What are they like?? EGT's?? Boost codes?? Use with or without box??

300 and RV 275 are the same part number

From previous posts these are same injectors just a diifferent engine configeration for fire trucks.

Same question here about 275's . . i have a source for a lot of cummins injectors used/new . . but i need numbers off of them to know what to pick up. . markings or anything. .

a shop here that rebuilds a LOT of the cummins engines has stock pile of injectors and are throwing them away pretty much. .

soo

if anyone has #'s that are listed on the injectors themselfs that would greatly help. .
