XK's Fuel Pressure Gauge problem - Help

I am close to purchasing the bosch 275 injectors, but am interested in comments from those who have them. Are you happy with them? Have you noticed a difference in HP? To date, my truck is stock and this is probably the only thing I would install, other than a dtt vb perhaps. I tow a 25' 5er that weighs a max. 9000 loaded. Any comments would be appreciated.

Bill

having gone with 275's in the beginning i can honestly say if i was doing it over i would get DD1's , maybe 2's as the HP bug bites hard and often . but then again i'm putting in the 3's tomorrow nite.

Bill, for what you want the power for, I'd suggest putting a box on before injectors. The injectors don't give near the torque increase of the VA or EZ where you need it for towing. The EZ, because it has the boost module built in, is probably the better buy, cost wise. The 275's on an Auto increase HP around 50(from others that have posted this number)and the difference can be felt. But the box by itself gives a better seat of the pants feel, as more torque is being made down low. I've run both individualy, and together, and can say, the box had the better increase. I've since moved on with bigger injectors, but even with the bigger injectors, the box makes the package work.

You don't need a box with 275 Bosch or DD1 injectors. The fueling increase is not big enough that you need more than stock boost levels.

It is true that the boxes give a big torque increase. The TST PowerMax 3 is an example where torque may go up 380 ft lb while hp goes up 130. That means that the power level at 2700 rpm is not affected as much as at 1700-1800 rpm. The increase in torque gives an excellent seat of the pants push and flattens the hp curve dramatically. The negative of this situation is that your transmission builder must be really good to hold all that torque. Injectors build power, and DD3s will give over 100 hp increase, but more or less follow the shape of the stock power curve. That means the torque boost is less in the mid range. Less pulling power at 1800, but less strain on the transmission. Actually the Ram drivetrains are happier over 2000 than under that rpm. Less load and hammering on bearings, etc. Less torque to hurt gears, etc. over 2000.

We just installed a set of 275 in my 01 Ram w/auto on 2/17. The HP level of the 275's is comparable to the HP gain of my VA.

I will not run the 275's and VA until I meet with Bill K. (aka The Guru).

romeo,
You will not see the real gain of any injectors unless you also install an electronic boost module and wastegate elbow as well. DD,Practical Solutions and Blue Chip sell such a module.

275's on an ETH REQUIRE a boost module regardless if the turbo has a boost elbow.
Why you ask?
The 275's in my truck could push the turbo hard enough to produce 26 psi of boost WITH THE WASTGATE FULLY OPEN! Stock I would see 21 psi max.
So, without a boost module I had a problem with major defueling. Now with my PS boost module and elbow, I can go WOT with 30 psi of boost and not a hint of defueling.

I think Joseph hit the nail on the head. I ran a VA and PS boost module for over 40k miles. Very happy, but as the guys say, the HP bug will hit. Since I tow with my truck and I want the reliability of a stock truck, I have tried to keep this in mind and be "smart" with upgrades I added 275's to the combo about 3k miles ago. I love it. Period! #ad

But, with 83+k miles on it, I can feel the upper limits of the clutch. I don't dare make hard starts a frequent activity. Above 2k, the truck runs like never before pulling hard to redline. It will cruise with less throttle and lower boost than before AND my fuel log shows a change of empty average fuel consumption going from the 15. 8 - 16. 2 range to 17. 8 - 18. 8 mpg. Lowest tank since 275's was 15. 8 and that was towing. Max boost is 32 loaded. Max EGT seen so far is 1050. Stock exhaust.

The EZ was a good choice, and the 275 injectors will complete a nice tow package in my opinion.

Good Luck,
