Hey everyone,

So I'm checking ebay for parts and find several vendors advertising 300hp Bosch injectors for 250-300 dollars. Is this worth it? I have a 24v ISB 5spd with very little mods. They claim I'll see about 50hp and improved mileage. Most aftermarket injectors seem to be in the 550-700 range. Quite the difference. I think my goal would be an overall 350-400hp when most my goals are met. Truck is mainly used for work hauling many trailers, of course camp/hunt. Trying to not overbuild and stay in budget. Any thoughts on these injectors? Thanx.

I had Bocsh RV275s that I bought from a reputable vendor for around $275. I dont think that there is enough savings on injectors off e bay to make them worth the risk. If you buy injectors you will need a fueling box to make them work. I have been running the EZ cause it was cheap but I am thinking about swapping to the smarty. Ive been very happy for the last 2 years with the towing and milage of that setup. My milage didnt go up much but I drive it like its stolen most of the time. :-laf I get 21 mpg when I set the cruse at 70mph. I average 16-17 normal driving.

If you dont alrady get a fuel pressure gauge.

If you buy from Ebay make sure that the injectors are Bosch and not a knockoff chinese brand. The Boschs I purchased were made at a Bosch facility in Turkey and cost $225 plus shipping.

Mike,

I also have the Edge EZ, did you notice the claimed horsepower increase? Thanks.

PS- does my trucks description show under my signature? I cannot see it from my view.

There is no such thing as 300 hp injectors for the ISB. The 275 hp RV injectors are it in the hp upgrade world from Bosch for ISBs. They give a nice gain 35-50 hp depending on your model, and you don't need any other upgrade to use them.

Buying injectors off ebay puts your whole motor at risk... . buy them from a reputable person or dealer and save the worries.

I'll definitely take your advice, and just continue to scan the TDR classifieds in order to save some $. It seems the RV injectors are the way to go for me. I guess I should admit a little confusion here, in reading posts by other members I see "CTD" with my year '99. Is this a different version than the ISB, or alhpabet soup for another mod? Aren't all 98. 8-2002 24v's ISB's?

To get your signature to appear... . go under discussion forums at the top of the screen, click on "user control panel"... . then "edit signature" & fill it in then click save. You will see it under your posts when it is working. This is different than your truck profile.

I did notice the difference with the EZ but the injectors really woke it up. The two work really well togather.

BTW I can see your truck info now.

What do you have against chinese?

They can make some good chinese food, just watch out for the MSG :(

Right! E-Bay is fine if you know who you are buying from. I got mine a couple years ago from a seller screen name who is actually MWFI - a great, trustworthy supplier, and factory authorized by Bosch.

I just bought Bosch 300 injectors from MidWest Foel Injection for 300. 00. Great service. Came in new Bosch boxes with all the seals etc. Dont gambel on e-bay at this price.

Merry Christmas.

I would not gamble on something that could be a knock-off and have a tip fall out (or dribble fuel) causing a catastropic engine failure over trying to save 30-50 bucks.

Go with a reputable dealer.

I have tried a lot of different injectors in my ISB and the favorites are the RV275s overall (sometimes marketed as 300 HP injectors, which seems a bit misleading right off the bat). Not as much power increase as the others, but the truck is happiest with them when it has to actually do work. They add a nice snappiness without overdoing things and getting your system all out of balance. They are also hard to beat for fuel mileage increase.

Rip Rook at sourceautomotive. biz had new injectors in genuine bosch packaging delivered for a reasonable price.

Recommended.
