My 06 3500 4x4 auto dually lost the low beams on both the truck and the plow, high beams ok on both. Am told the TIPM was either bad or needed reflash. Supposedly the TIPM controls lights, and if voltages exceed limits or there are bad connections it shuts down lights. Dealer cleared codes and reflashed and all is well. I can't have this happen again. Anybody else have this issue? My Boss connections are new and have the newer upgraded connectors.

Did the dealer raise the amp for the lights? I believe that's the factory fix for trailer tow problems, but it should work for the additional load at the headlights as well. I assume you have the dual burn option enabled on your Boss. It was probably just enough additional load to trip the TIPM.

If your trying to run the Boss lights off the same circuit as the headlights then the TIPM is probably seeing it as an overload. I would employ a relay and fuse to isolate the aftermarket lights from the truck.

My Boss uses relays for all electrical functions. The dual burn feature uses both high and low bulbs on high beam. Possible the computer sees too much draw for that reason?

There is an overload on the circuit somewhere, relay or direct wiring. Have to find the problem or it will happen again. IIRC, 3 resets and you buy a new TIPM.
