A no cost way to improve your mileage is to drive a little slower. Pulling a relatively heavy motorcycle trailer with two Harleys, my truck get 17 mpg at 70-75 and 21 at 60-65. Stop light drag racing is also very hard on economy. Takes a lot of fuel to get that 7,000 pounds moving from a stop.

Speeds driven and manner of acceleration is one of the main reasons we such a difference in reported fuel mileage on our trucks, or any vehicle for that matter! JOIBO!

And where in the Keys do you go 75 mph???????

Sherman, yep, you are right about that!!! No speed limit higher than 55 until you get up to the mainland. I do drive other places than the Keys. OFTEN!

A lot of people say to avoid the throttle, but avoid the brakes as well. Once moving why waste that energy on heat. Things like coasting up to stoplights help a ton.
