What is this?

Oil drain plug size??

Saturday, October 19, 2002 will be a day I will remember for a long time. That was the day I bought my first Dodge CTD. Body is white with the silver on the side and the clear coat paint. It has CTD of course and 5 speed transmission, 4X4, club cab and long box. It is the LE with all the options, even power mirror's. It has that BIG chrome grill, bumper's and mirror's. My baby's a real looker. I'm the second owner and it only has 200,000 Km's or 120,000 mile's. The original owner traded it in on a brand new one (lucky s. o. b. ) and it was on our 5 star Chrysler dealer lot for only two days and I grabbed it. :D Paid too much at $16,000. 00 Canadian, but they a hard to come by up here. I have been looking for almost a year now. They were asking $19,000,00 for it. :( First question is about rpm's; what is the best rpm to drive at to get the best air flow threw the turbo to get max boost, best performance and cooling for my CTD. I was reading about how the governor will stop it from over revving and my truck seems to max out at about 2500, to 2800. Is this normal? My truck is stock. That is another reason I bought it. Now I can do the mod's I want and not have some other's I might not need. :) Thing's to check on this old war horse is another question I would like to ask? It has a new exhaust from the muffler back, No it's not a Bank's 4 inch. The front end has a lot off new parts including new seal in the steering box. I guess I have rambled enough here, any way glad to join the Frat and hope be along time member of TDR. Great web site, eh!

Rick

PS: got to think of a good name for my baby. ;)

Pictures

Mark,

Just got the truck yesterday. Haven't even started it today and it has rained here all weekend. I live on the wild west wet coast of Canada. There will be lots of photo's.

Photos of truck

Mark,

Went and had a look at your photo's. Cool ride man! Got to find me one of those cool stick knob's. Remember the old pistol grip in the 440 Super Bee's

Rick.

Yeah even though I'm 19 I don't "remember" 'em bout I know what your talking about. :-laf

I had a Eaton Fuller for a few months. Liked ti at first but them it became annoying. If it didn't extend the shift like probably 8" or so it'd be pretty cool, but I went back to my factory knob a month ago.

Pistol Grip would be cool but then again as long as it didn't extend the crap outta the shifter.

rdurham, welcome to the clan just make sure you stay away from that there nascar marc guy:D heard tell he slings porta potties around and now its pallets and lawn chairs:--) :--) to bad you missed the dyno day saturday you could have meet a few of the group that were up from the States. bill

Local Guy's

Bill,

Nice to hear from a local guy. My sister lives just down the road from you in Maple Ridge. My first CTD. It would be nice to meet up with some other local owner's. Bushwhacker is around this area too. How many K's on your 91?

Rick :D

It's good to see the first gen clan getting a little bigger. If the bomb bug get's to you give Piers a call, www.piersdiesel.com , they are awsome people to deal with and will answer all your questions, and they are within 20 minutes of you. I hope you have fun with the truck Oo.

GOOD GAWD I'd love to be that close to PDR!:D

Cool on getting a 1G, I like them better than the 3G's everybody is talking about. I got my 2G on June 8, 2002 and have put 14,000 miles on it since then.

Plenty of 1G basics on here, just search around.

Ahhhhhh Haaaaaa, another 1st genner... ... :D :D :D

rdurham, drop me a note sometime, I'm fairly close being here in Maple Ridge.

Luv to have a coffee some time and have a personal look at your new ride.

Best Regards, Bob.

I was at Carter dodge last week getting them to try figure out my transmission problems, and I think I seen it on the lot, and it is definitely a nice looking truck :D , if we are talking about the same truck. I'm pretty sure Piers will have a new customer soon;)

See My Rig.

Bushwhacker,

Yes I would like to see your truck too. Also talk in person and go over both your truck and my truck and get a guy who has owned a truck lie mine for a while. How long have you owned your present truck.

Withers,

That goes for you too. You are way closer than Bushwhacker. You sound like you live in my front yard. My house faces west. (north Delta)

Bill,

Maybe when I go out to the sticks and get Bushwhacked I could stop by your place or something. Would like to see your wheels.

My truck is still at Carter. They are working on the front-end again. Got to give them credit. They told me when I bought the truck they would fix the front-end for me. This is the third time in there shop. I have used a lot of the info I have collected from this site to get it fixed.

Rick

rdurham maybe we should see about setting up a gathering at a centralized coffee shop and get Nascar Mark and the other local members involved as well. bill

I would'nt mind meeting up with a few of the boy's, but if there is more then a couple of us running POD's, the coffee shop will have a hole in the ozone above it :p

C.T.D. Owner's Meeting

To All,

I like the idea of a coffee shop parking lot meeting. My truck is back and running fine.

I would like to suggest the Tim Horton's on the corner of the Mary Hill By-Pass and Kingsway Avenue in Port Coquitlam. There is a Chevron Gas Bar, Tim Horton's and Wendy's located here. It has a great parking spot on the south side for our rig's. A central location for all and easy to find.

Tomorrow, Sunday, November 3rd around 1:00 P. M. What do you guy's think? :D

It will be another nice sunny day and give us a good reason to get our trucks out.

When I was a teenager we would do the same thing with our cars at the local Burger King in Richmond. We called it the Hoods Up Gang.

All Dodge C. T. D. owners are welcome.

Rick

Well I kinda started this thing. My wife is on the sick list with a super bad head ache but I think I will be able to get away for a bit. bill

Is the Tim Hortons near the Gill Netter, if it is I know were it is, I can't promise I'll be there, But if I finish my weekly duties, I may be able to make it:) , I'll be wearing the white and red truck, being followed by a blue haze. :-laf
