It starts rough every time after sitting overnight. I assume I will be pointed toward the fuel return line but wanted to post for input first.

I've also seen a slowly weeping fuel filter drain. Never leaked a puddle anywhere, but the filter was nearly empty after an overnight stay.

Just something to consider.

"Rough start" is kinda vague, but I had a version of that on mine when it was cool or cold overnight. Long story short, I had one of the heater grid relays quit working. They are located on a common bracket on the driver's side fender well. Follow the leads back from the grids & you'll see them. Make sure both ends of both leads are tight too. Get a tester, lets the grids cycle, & see if you have current on BOTH sides of each relay. I had to replace mine for about $65 at the dealer, couldn't find them anywhere else. I kept the old set as a spare, because one relay was still working, and can be removed from the bracket. It takes both relays working to smooth out a cold start.

There is another post on relays. I replaced mine on the advice of an earlier thread but could not search it out. I have to dig up the info. You can get them from Allied Electronics for 15 bucks each. They are slightly larger so you need to fab a simple bracket.

Stancor selenoids

You can get the selenoids here.

These selenoids are slightly larger so you must fab a bracket. I still did not find that thread. If you look at the selenoids, see how the base mounts on the bracket and the selenoid points towards the engine. You make an "L" shaped bracket so they lie against the fender. I made a "U" shaped bracket so my cables don't rub against the selenoids.

I would assume if it start getting cleaner on startup as the weather warm it is the heater grid issue. I will check it out.

QRTRHRS, that link you posted took me to a search page. Any additional info on that specific solenoid I could enter to find it? Does it have a part # on it? ( if you have time to look sometime)

I found the problem Saturday. It was 1 of the puch on conenctors that engages 1 of the relays. Problem solved. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Surprising how rough they run when it is 85 degrees out and only 1 grid works when starting.
