Just bought a 92 D250 to drive to work/tow/haul etc.

221K on it. Cummins/518/dana 70 3:5 sure grip rear

LE edition all power and the a/c works!!!

Needs body work and paint.

I was wondering where you guys would start on doing any kind of a "tune up " on this CTD.

Air fuel and oild filters with an oil change would be a good start.

I have yet to change a fuel filter on a CTD. Do I have to use a pump lever to re prime the line after replacing the filter even if I fill the filter with fuel or additive?

Is the old diesel tune up true, fill the filter with some power service or favorite brand of fuel additive/injector cleaner and let it rip?

Ill have to stop by the Cummins store and get a B59 manual and adjust the valves also.

The transmission was rebuilt 8,000 miles ago. Ball joints and tires very recently.

Any advice? Its appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Dude, after you get your manual look in the service list and start at the top and do everything. that way you'll know it was done and when. Then get some guages and let the Bombing begin.

200,000 miles? cool! and don't worry, I've got 195,000+ and I'm still Bombing.

Paul:

I change my fuel filter when I change oil filter. ($9. 32) I just fill filter with fuel and screw on. Never failed to start or needed to pump fuel yet.
