Power Steering Problem on my Mopar Muscle Car???

Thanks to the guidance of several folks, we bought a 97 LX Civic, 5spd. with 69k today for $5995. It looks as near new as any used car I've seen. We talked to the original owners (bought from a car dealer) and they gave it a clean bill of health.

We're pretty pleased at the moment.

Now for the warrenty, the dealer is pushing a 2 yr. 24k mile "Wynn's ValueGuard Service Contract" that appears to be a cover everything warranty for about $800.

Since I normally do all our auto work, my first impulse was to say "Thanks, but no thanks", but I'm having second thoughts since son will be several hours away and if he had a problem, the warranty might be nice.

Anyone know anything about Wynns?

Also, I'm thinking the timing belt is likely due to be changed. How big a deal is this, 2hrs, all day, plan on a weekend?

Thanks, Ronnie

I was wondering how you were making out with that process...

It's due for a belt. Replace everything while you're in there...

I've never done one on a Civic... but I'm assuming space under the hood is at a premium - that should be the only thing that's the biggest PITA.

I just finished a timing belt on a '96. It was a done in about 2 hours without the use of air tools. Honda's are real easy to work on.
