Is it me…or do air bags really suck on a lightly loaded truck?

I have a 2000 Fleetwood Bounder Diesel, Cummins 275 ISB on a Freightliner chassis. When I parked it all was fine, I pulled it out yesterday and the fuel gauge stayed at E. The tank has about 50 gallons in it. I ran the generator for about 20 minutes, it will not run if the tank is 1/4 full or less. I checked the gauge connections and all else works like it should. Any ideas on what to check? I drove it about 20 miles to see if it would start working with no Luck. Thanks in advance for any tips.

If you can get me the last 6 numbers of the chassis VIN, not the body VIN. I will look it up and see what gauge system it has. I can then check with one of our techs Monday and get the test procedure.

A 2000 chassis should be as simple as unplugging the connector from the sender and then jumping the terminals. If the gauge then reads full it is a bad sender. BUT, let me verify that Monday before you attempt the test.

Around here I'd be looking for pack rat damage to wiring. If something sits still, they'll be in it in no time flat, and commence to gnawing on wires.

The last 6 of the chassis vin. H38459

Thanks, Scott

I have a few PDF's I would like to send you and they are too big to post on the site.

I had the exact same fuel gauge problem and did the same as you including running the generator. What was the problem?? Thanks!!

Is it on a Freightliner Chassis??

If so, get me the last 6 digits of the chassis vin. Not the coach vin.

I am on vacation but will dig into when I return to work on the 6th if that works for you.

It is the Freightliner chassis and I will get the chassis VIN. I have the engine data plate info if that helps. Thanks!!
