We have run Michelins, Goodyears, Coopers, BF Goodrich, Dunlop, General and Firestone's. We have found that the Firestone's Transforce A/T's give us better wear /mileage and with fewer side wall problems. Our trucks are heavy service body trucks that are on new construction job sites daily, from gravel parking lots to mud parking area's. The Firestone's side wall has held up to various debris that we encounter much better than the others--the Michelins were the worse (had the softest side wall and damaged very easy).
Our use is on the "commerical / extreme" side, but we have always gotten at least 50k from a set of 4 /6. We do rotate them every 5k and keep the trucks aligned, proper air pressure (usually around 75-80 psi) depending on the truck.
The cost of the Firestone's, better wear and better off road performance makes them a "no brainer" for our use---your use could be different.
