Home electricity?

In the days before deer feeder hunting, we hunted from blinds, trees/brush, or stalked. I have on several occasions had deer come up close enough to touch, and that was in the era of wearing Hai Karate with no scent killers, activated charcoal clothes, or deer scent.

One occasion, I had a fair sized doe come up and watch me closely for about 10 minutes while I was standing in an opening, closely enough to nuzzle at me in fact. I stood very still and didn't move, and she huffed and stamped her foot. Interestingly enough when they stamp like that, it hits the ground so hard you can feel it in your feet. And the whistling "whuff" noise they make to try and scare you into movement is LOUD when you're up close, much louder than you'd think after hearing it from across a field :-laf.

Wasn't until the era of the Internet that I got to see some pictures of a guy who had been attacked by a deer, that I realized what those sharp little hooves can do. I won't let one get close like that again

Here's a picture of a buffalo that walked up behind my Dodge truck / Bigfoot camper while my son and I were stopped on the road taking a picture of an awesome double rainbow following a brief but vicious storm on the way in from the East side (came in from Cody).

Didn't know this bad boy was there until I heard a grumbling noise and lowered the camera, looked back and there was a buffalo head right beside my left front side camper jack!

He mosied right on by, we just sat there in the truck watching him until he decided to leave the road. Awesome sight! (Can vouch though that a wet buffalo stinks like the devil). Think I posted this picture in another forum area some time back, but it's worth showing again I think :-laf

Incidentally, here's one of the pics of the double rainbow. By the time I stopped to take it, the sun had dimmed a bit. When I first saw it the colors of the rainbow were gloriously bright, it looked close enough to touch.

They are "mighty tasty too",a fair amount of private farms for the meat up here and decent in price. Up noth by the Alberta/B. C/NWT border where my folks live its wild game(deer, moose, elk, bison) as there staple then beef is last. Mama sends me down a few bags of homemade wild game jerky from up there----it doesn"t last more than a few days around here:-laf:-laf:-laf. DW

Wow, too freakin' cool! Do you know if the guy got him? At the end you see him whip up the bow, wondered if he got a shot off?

Elk

I have a friend who's brother is a pro elk guide in Arizona. He only does bow hunts as its more in the heart of the rut. He also likes the up close and personal challenge over a long range rifle shot. He took out a great white tail hunter for his first elk. He had what he knew was a biggun buglin back and had the guy get ready. The hunter was between the bull and the guide with his back against a big tree at a bend in the trail. He gets back to calling and in comes a 400"+ 7X7 at a dead run and all hot and ready. The bull stopped within a couple of feet of the hunter looking for the cow. Any one who's seen a horny bull elk knows how much snot they blow out! His shirt was drenched! When the guide got to him to ask why he never drew the bow:-{} he noticed his pants were soaked too!:-laf I guess he was surprised at just how big an elk is compared to the wiley white tail. After hearing that, I went for the long range rile shot over the snot! It was also the best tasting meat I've ever had!

Pete,

I have no idea. My buddy sent the video as an e-mail. I'll ask if he has any more info. Stand by. No further info is available. Sorry.

My parents have had an encounter or two with moose in their house in Maine.

They were walking in the street by their house... not being quite or anything.

Mom said to Dad "why is there a horse in the street?" Dad said "It's not a horse. ":-laf

They werent that close, but more like 6-10 feet away. (one lane road)

They tried making some more noise, but the dopey thing wouldnt leave.
