Thunder in Muncie 2003 changes!

Little bit of Texas!

Since nobody else decided to post this, I'll take the initiative to post the results of this past weekends events from Bowling Green, KY.

Saturday morning was a Dyno day at TS Performance. Food was great, hospitality was above par, and the dyno was smokin'. I'm not bragging, but I ruled all day as top dog with a 419hp and 930lb/ft torque until the "drug addicts" started making their passes. Those trucks are downright impressive! High HP/torque numbers went to TS Performance Dodge with a 630hp and more than 1200lb/ft torque number, but that took two shots of nitrous and propane to get there... Oh, and did I mention it was a 24 valve? My numbers may be off a bit on the dyno results, I'm spouting tom memory. If anyone was there and remembers what the high numbers were, feel free to chime in and post them.

Saturday night was the drag race. Eliminations were fairly typical with the exception that by the semi-final round, 3 of the 4 trucks were DHRA division 2 drivers (Jeff Garmon, David Dunbar, and Mike Batterson). Well, to make a long story short, Mike Batterson ran away with the purse after intimidating Jeff Garmon in the semi-final round and David Dunbar in the finals. Congratulations Mike! It was an impressive victory!

Special thanks go to TS Performance for hosting us, DHRA Division 3 and Eric McBride for organizing. It was a blast!

That was my first "big" event and I will say I had an absolute blast! I made my best dyno and 1/4 runs ever as seen in my sig, and got to meet many great people and hang out with even more. Racing was awesome as Division 2 swept the top three:D ;) , but a great time was had by all as there were numerous fast trucks there from all areas. Needless to say I will be attending these events more often. Muncie here I come!!Oo.

P. S. ---Rob, as soon as the wallet allows, you may be hearing from me about your stack kit, those look and sound awesome:cool:

This was also my first event and I loved it!!:D I also had my first Dyno run at 366. 2 with no torque #'s. That sucked but oh well I really enjoyed and will definetly be at Muncie. The one number that did show for torque while I was watching the screen was in the high 700's. This thrills me to death. The event was great and I enjoyed it alot it was well worth the 5 hour drive. :D :D Thanks to TS Performance, Dyno Dave, and DHRA for a great time.

421 hp/817 torque and I blew a nut off the clamp that attaches the turbo to the intercooler piping ( little red O-ring). I hated to get back in line to finish my last 2 runs and was hoping to complete this in Muncie (please)? This truck will have 500 hp average I know. I had a blast and thanks to TS Performance for everything. I didnt know my truck had a 14. 3 in it and breaking out kinda was disappointing (14. 42 DI). Muncie I will be wearing a helmet due to the 13. 99 rule and have the loops installed. Was there any faster 1 tons there in KY? See you all in Muncie Kirk

Kirk,

It was nice to meet you!! Nice numbers at the track. The fastest 3500 that I seen was a friend of mine that I came down with. He ran a 13. 50 on his first pass with #2 only. Hope to catch up with you agian sometime. :)

Kirk, How does Sunday at the track sound for your other two runs? I'll make you reservation #1 if you'd like.

I'm sorry about the confusion but I would not have made you go to the back of the line... ;)

Dan - How about you being #2 on Sunday? I'm sorry we didn't get the torque for you, not sure why the pick-up didn't work on your pulls...

I like happy customers so both of you will get complimentary pulls at Muncie on Sunday if you are ok with that.

See you all in Muncie...

I will take you up on it,Sun morning is ok. After waiting in line for hours and being cut in front of by those two stinking Furds. I believe 1 was from Texas and the other from Kentucky. I know it was out of your hands. I didnt want to dissappoint the next guy by getting back in line. JR is was nice meeting you to. Maybe I will see you in Muncie? I met a whole bunch of great people and the season has just begun. :D

what a great event!!!

first off,i have to say thanks to Dennis and his entire crew at TS Performance for hosting a great event. the ribs were really good and the hospitality was even better. i met a bunch of fine folks in between my job of strapping down trucks on the dyno. i was truely amazed at the turnout, there were trucks everywhere.

next i have to thank Jeff Garmon for all his help in getting my truck right and the advice on drag racing. it sure was something to see 3 out 4 trucks with Garmon Diesel Performance decals on the side. i couldn't of done it without the support of jeff and david. i was very lucky.

finally,Eric at DieselSportPromotions, you did a fantastic job putting together a great event. for those of you that couldn't attend, you missed a good one.

thanks,

mike

:)

Dave that sounds great. I will gladly take you up on the number 2 run on Sunday at Muncie. hopefully by then I will even have more done to my truck. Thank you and I appreciate it very much. Maybe I will even get to the 400hp area by then. Thanks Dan
