what would be the best programmer or box for milage on a 01 HO truck power aint really an issue just looking to go the distance on a tank of fuel.

OK - with my setup

I use an EDGE COMP - on 1v1... ... flickering light... . You Know I don't use NUCLEAR hardly at all anymore - I even don't mind not blowing past Fords etc... . I rarely get my foot into it at all with fuel as expensive as ----well you know.....

Now I have posted before about the great mileage you can get - and it's all UP TO YOU!!!! With my rig on 1v1 - AND DRIVING LIKE YOU HAVE AN EGG UNDER YOUR RIGHT FOOT. . anticipating stops - . Around Town - I can get 20. 8..... that is Stop and go!!! That's ACTUAL Mileage - no computer - and no BS!!!!!

On the Highway - keeping the rig at NO MORE THAN 56... . I can get between 24. 6 and 28. 5!!!!... . BUT not consistent on that - and not exactly sure. I mean I have looked at the diference in trips - similar weather - geography - mountsins etc.....

The Real secret is your FREAKING RIGHT FOOT and NOT a 3rd Gen TRUCK!!!! Sorry guys... my son has an 06... he shares your pain.....

What you are looking for is added timing. Most of them offer that & there are some dedicated to mileage (more timing less fueling) Edge Mileage Max & Smarty #1 come to mind. hammersley is right. I get 18-20 stop & go 25 steady freeway 65 & my right foot is moderately heavy.

I am using the fuel saver tune in my Smarty and drive very conservatively. We have excellent 4 lane, low traffic highways here in NW Tennessee and I drive 55 or less ALL the time. So far my 3 tank avarage is 24. 3 mpg.
