OK, I drive 140 Miles to Chapman Dodge in Tempe, I pull into the Service Writers line, and yes, good service, long lines, and was helped within 15 Seconds.

A tech was looking at the problem within 60 Seconds, the Parts Order was entered while I watched within three minutes.

A Salesman brought me a cup of coffee with 90 seconds.

(BTW, salesman earned the sale of a truck to my wife shortly )

The part will be here on Friday, even with the holiday, and I will have it installed ( a very easy job actually ) when I drive up, no waiting, no rack, no appointment, no take this number, no bull@%$^, just service.

Diamond Dodge in Flagstaff, Come On Down, You ARE the Bozo Service Department of the Year Award Winner!!!

(... . And I will stop by Frequently to let you know... . )

bozo award for service

Dieselman,

Looks like you are going to have a good ending to your saga. I drove an '03 last Saturday, clubcab, Cummins 6-speed HO 4x4 and was very impressed. I am still trying to get used to the front of the truck styling, but the rest of the truck and the ride seemed great. As I have a camper I noticed (after it was called to my attention by another TRD member) that the front of the bed where the HappiJacs usually mount miught be problematic or another system would need to be used. I guesss Dodge was trying to save 50 cents on the truck. Overall, I was sort of sorry I drove it because I liked it! It is a neat truck!!

Keep In Mind, My gripe isn't with the truck, not at all! It's the best darn truck I've ever bought. It's not even with D/C. Its the worthless, lazy, happless, slothenly jerks that seem to infest so many businesses that give businesses and trades a bad name in general.

I kick a@@ doing the best work I can for my customers because thats where my next customer will come from, and I fire, without question or reservation, slobs like that that make their way into my business. I don't put up with it, and I don't patronize businesses that do, period.

I don't mind coffee in the work area, just keep it out of sight. No smoking where anyone can see you and don't ever leave a job site unnatended. Everyone is yes sir and yes maam, can't isn't a word, and paychecks are on Friday. Pretty simple rules.

If you can't get off your dead a@@ and do your job, quit, try Darwinism and visit some other world, just get off of my planet.

As for my truck, a $10. 00 bolt thats part of a $115. 00 list parts kit. Big Deal, I would have bought the part, but I was treated very disrespectfully, and for that I owe them no respect in return. The owner returned no calls when I voiced my concerns.

Thats Diamond Dodge in Flagstaff, in case you missed it.

My truck will be serviced, whenever it may need dealer service, at Chapman Dodge in Tempe!

Don't be sorry you drove the truck, absolve your sin and buy one!

DIESELMAN,

You have got to stop being so shy and soft spoken. :D

You are right!

'03 and business values

Dieselman,

I apperciate your business values, too bad there are not more like you. I will likely get a third gen sometime soon. I had a first gen, now own a second gen and someday a third gen will probably be in the driveway. You are right, they are great trucks.

When it was time for the first oil change on my 02, I decided to take it to the dealership where I bought it (45 minutes away in a small town). I told the service manager that I normally do my own oil changes, but I wanted them to do the first one to get the stubborn oil filter off.

I also explained this to the service tech. While doing the service he recommended just using Fleetgaurd filters. He said that Mopar filters were made by Fleetguard. He asked me if I knew how to drain the blow by bottle. I told him I didn't, so he showed me. I asked which oil he recommended (they just carried Mopar and Rottela). He said any good oil which is rated CH-4 and not to use synthetic oil till the engine is broken in. He also warned me that Rottela stinks for the first few hundred miles. I was very pleased with the attitude of this dealers service department. KL

It's amazing, the "we can't put it on the rack until we have the parts. Gotta order them first, but we don't know what parts we need until it gets on the rack" story. Maybe that's why the two racks were empty!!!

Similar experience on my 95 gasser at Heart of Texas Dodge in 1997. I was in AZ when the baffles of the CC broke and would restrict the exhaust flow. They (Chapman Dodge) said it'd be a week to order the part but I'd be back in Texas by then. So he entered the diagnosis into the computer and told me to have my Texas service dept look it up and it should be right there for them with what to order, then I can take it in and be done in short order. Well the guy at HoT Dodge says he can't order parts till he looks at it, doesn't trust the other service departments he says. . So I take it in and he asks if I had them order the parts because it's gonna sit for a week while he orders them, and that I should've had him order them first... .

Chicken or the egg???
