I'm in the process of replacing my fuel lines and I've got the bestest Trident marine grade hose I could get. When some of you replace the return line, are you talking about the braided section? Should I worry about it if its not currently leaking? I did get enough hose to replace everything, but I can't figure out why the return would be near the concern compared to the supply.



FYI- I got stranded in the Utah desert last weekend because of a 12" piece of fuel supply hose that the joker before me replaced with regular Napa fuel line. Of course, it rotted through, sucked air, and I was stuck. I cut the hose shorter, stretched the hard line, and made it home. If you don't want to replace the rubber section of your fuel line, put a 2 foot piece of 5/16" and 3/8" in yer toolbox, under your seat, or where ever. Its cheap, and you never know what it might be good for.

I replaced my return first, as it was dripping fuel down on the bellhousing and starter area. . I also used Trident, man its good stuff. . The return carries a good bit of pressure at WOT, so I was concerned with it before the suction. Havent had any air problems tho.



My first failure about a month after I got the truck was one of the braided lines directly under the drivers feet that connects to the bellhousing. It had rubbed thru from contact on the frame, and was unrepairable. I slapped a quick piece of patch hose on it, then replaced the whole return line later.
