Parts houses still have phrenelic pistons, and as they are cheaper, and I am in the midwest/south (depends on whom you speak with), they give me the cheaper ones first. You have to REQUEST the good stuff.

I took a look at the braking system in the two and one-half minutes it wasn't pouring rain this weekend...

Does anyone know why there appears to be a rubber grommet of some kind on the back (firewall side) of the "proportioning valve", and what, if anything, it might be hiding? I couldn't really see it that well. Any possibility there might be an adjustment there?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that opening is for servicing equipment…?

I changed front brakes this weekend... . the brakes that I took off looked like they were full metallic brakes (just look at them and they started to rust). So I went down to AutoZone and see what they had for semi-metallics, well they were the exact same thing. So I checked out their other offerings and decided to try the carbon-metallic pads. They were advertised as softer, quieter and less rotor wear.

So far these have been an improvement over what I had on there! :) I can feel the front end dive now under hard breaking with the rear tires just barely howling... . :D
